Here is another passion project: the creation of a production studio's animated identity, Studio Honu. The animation, name, and logo are heavily inspired by my Hawaiian heritage, offering a personal touch while demonstrating a strong skill set in illustration, 3D effects within Adobe Illustrator, and 2D animation principles. This project allowed me to combine cultural inspiration with technical execution, resulting in a unique and meaningful brand identity.
For this project, my process began with developing a clear vision through storyboarding, using simple sketches to map out the logo's journey, iconography, and desired motion. The core creative concept was to have the logo exist underwater, with the Honu, or turtle, serving as the central motif. After designing the custom typography and logo, the challenge shifted to animating these elements convincingly within an aquatic environment. Through extensive research into animation techniques for fluid dynamics and motion, I was able to develop the final "under the ocean" flow, achieving the desired organic movement and atmospheric effect you see in the final piece.
